Best Memory::Seeing Mt. Fuji rise majestically on the horizon, framed by cherry blossom trees in the spring. Visiting my ancestral home villages during summer vacation and meeting relatives for the first time – unfortunately, I wasn’t fluent in Japanese. NHS didn’t offer Japanese, so I took French!

Best Memory::Leaving!! Seriously, good times with folks I attended school with, from elementary to jr. high to NHS, jumpstart on career in media (print and electronic) via Kanto Plainsman, Stars & Strtipes and Far East Network; wandering Tokyo and environs and managing to avoid trouble most of the time, using my dad’s FEN business card (printed in Japanese and English) to gain entry to sold out The Ventures concert at theater in Ginza in Summer 1965. It identified me as Program Director Far East Network. I was all of 19.
